FOOTSTEPS OF JESUS
In these lessons we will study the locations on the map of Palestine
so that we can relate the travels of Jesus in each of the Three Years of
Ministry.
SYNOPTIC GOSPELS:
All the events in the Life of Jesus are recorded by four
authors and contained in four stories we call the Gospels, Matthew, Mark,
Luke, and John. Each had a different purpose in writing, a different
audience, and a different perspective on the Lord's ministry. To help us see
the entire picture of Jesus ministry it is important to unify the events in
the story into chronilogical order, that is, in the sequence in which they
happened. We call this a synopsis, or a harmonization of the Gospels.
This can be done personally by diligent study of the four Gospels and
matching events and places of each. The Thompson Chain Reference Bible has
a helpful guide which has already compiled the events in the Life of Christ
into this order, and divides the Life of Christ into the same years of
ministry that we are using here in our study. Make photo copies of these
pages and keep it with you workbook and notes. It will be a valuable re
ference guide to the historical events.
FOOTSTEPS OF JESUS:
The Thompson Chain Reference Bible also contains a
series of maps that trace the journeys of Jesus in each year of his ministry
using "footprints" to show his direction, and the path that he took each
time. These are also very helpful in visualizing and remembering the
travels of Jesus. If you ever are priviledged to travel to Palestine take
these maps along with you as a reminder of Jesus ministry locations.
STAGES OF LIFE OF CHRIST
The story of Jesus' life divides into five stages.
