  1. Prayer
    • I Samuel 12:23 Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:
    • Acts 6:4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
    • I Timothy 2:1,8 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, [and] giving of thanks, be made for all men; . . . I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

  2. Reading/Study
    • 1 Timothy 4:13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
    • 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

  3. Fellowship
    • Acts 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.1 Timothy 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

  4. Feed the Flock
    • Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
    • 1 Peter 5:2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight [thereof], not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;

  5. Visitation
    • Acts 20:20 [And] how I kept back nothing that was profitable [unto you], but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house,
    • 1 Thessolonians 5:14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all [men].

    • 2 Timothy 2:24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all [men], apt to teach, patient, (2 Timothy 2:24)
    • 2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

  8. Watch over Spiritual Life of Church
    • Hebrews 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that [is] unprofitable for you.
    • 1 Peter 5:3 Neither as being lords over [God's] heritage, but being examples to the flock.
