|            "A Humorous Respite for Weary Workers"                   |
|                                                                     |
|    A few years ago I almost lost my sense of humor, in fact, it     |
|    disappeared for about a year after our daughter died while       |
|    we were serving as missionaries in Brazil.  Then one day the     |
|    sun shone again and I smiled and even laughed outloud.  What     |
|    a relief that was. My closest friend said, "Dick, its so         |
|    good to see you laugh again.  "                                  |
|                                                                     |
|    Missionaries and pastors serve often in very difficult and       |
|    joy-starved locations where a smile, a laugh, or a well told     |
|    humorous anecdote would be as welcome cool cup of water in a     |
|    desert. We need to laugh. God made it so.  He created our        |
|    world with myriads of weird and funny examples of God's own      |
|    sense of humor.  Laughter is a gift of God.                      |
|                                                                     |
|    This page is written principally for pastors and                 |
|    missionaries as a humorous respite for weary "veterans of        |
|    foreign bores."   You can lose your patience, lose your          |
|    mind,  or even lose your lunch...                                |
