What it is not :

• Not a mission conference theme for one year
• Not compassion for the needy - sending clothes or medical supplies
• Not a one time gift for a project
• Not a program that the denomination or mission agency mandates
• Not for a SS class, mission committee, or family to do alone (though it can be done that way). Normally for the entire church.

A UPG Focus :

• Involves the entire church
• Chosen with purpose and intention
• Prayer is foundational*
• A learning process **
• Commitment to pray, learn, inform others
• Commitment over a period of time... years
• Continues till there is an active, reproducing church within their group
• Networking with others - sharing information
• Supportive of those who minister among them
• Consider sending someone to them (short-term team or a missionary)
• Finding creative ways to build connections with them
• Finding internationals from that group in America

*Praying

• Praying for which group to choose
• Praying for someone to share Jesus with them - or -
• Praying for those who are already sharing Jesus with them
• Praying against the strongholds that hinder them from knowing Jesus
• Praying for them to know and accept Jesus
• Praying for spiritual leaders to emerge from among them

**Learning


• Learning where they live, what language they speak, lifestyle
• Learning about their religious beliefs
• Learning what hinders them from knowing Jesus
• Learning what missionaries, churches or agencies are doing in their region
• Learning what it takes to get the Gospel to a UPG
