Characters:
MC: Master of Ceremonies
Puppet: Any puppet will do
=======================================================
PUPPET: (Milton shows up half asleep and yawning.)
MC: Good Morning Milton! It looks like you are just getting up! You
should have been up hour ago. Everyone else is up and ready for Sunday
School. (Church or Noah's Ark)
PUPPET: OK, OK. I'm here and ready to go. What's happening today?>
MC: Very good - now you look alert. Are you ready to learn?
PUPPET: Today we are going to learn that Jesus is at our hearts door,
knocking wanting to come in.
PUPPET: Cool! That's fantastic! Wait a minute. I'll be right back.
(Returns with a stethescope around his neck.) Come here and help me
Marilyn. I want to listen to my heart. (MC:ts the stethescope up to
his ears, on chest then listens. Use sound effects of a heart
beating.) -- WOW! It'sreally true! I hear someone knocking!
MC: Really? Do you hear Jesus voce too?
PUPPET: No, I just hear him knocking - bump-bum, bump-bum. Oh wait -
I hear a girgling sound too?
MC: No - that's your stomach growling - you're hungry. That's not
Jesus knocking. It's your heart MC:mping blood through your veins.
PUPPET: Oh yeah! I forgot. Jesus isn't sall enough to get inside my
heart. Beside that he wouldn't want to get all dirty ith my bloodall
over him.
MC: Oh Milton don't be silly. Jesus doesn't get into our physical
heart and get all bloody. By heart we mean your mind, your thoughts,
where the real you lives inside your body.
PUPPET: I know that!!!
MC: When the bible says 'Jesus is knocking at your dour hearts door.'
We mean he is whispering to your mind. He's talking to you asking if
you will let him come into your life and be your Savior.
PUPPET: Really? Jesus wants to come into my life? (Shouts looking up)
OK! Jesus you can come in now! My mouth is open - come ion in! I won't
bite you! (Looks up with mouth wide open.)
MC: Milton you're so silly. Jesus doesn't come in to our lives through
our mouths.
PUPPET: Well then how does he get in?
MC: OK, First thing is you don'thave to yell at Jesus for him to hear
you. He isn't deaf. He is right here near us - just invisible. Second,
he doesn't come into our hearts thorough our mouths. We invite Jesus
into our hearts by praying. That means we talk to him and invite him
into our hearts. We open our hearts door by telling Jesus he is
welcome to come in.
PUPPET: But I don't hear him! I just hear my heart beating.
MC: We don't hear Jesus with our ears Jesus talksto us inside our
hearts, our minds, that is, through our consciences or our thoughts.
He whispers. When we hear God's word - like Revelation 3:20. "Behold I
stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears my voice and opens the
door I will come into him and fellowship with him and he with me. We
listen to his voice by listening to his word, the Bible.
MC: Oh, I get it. So that's why we read and study the Bible!
PUPPET: Right Milton.
MC: Have you heard Jesus voice? Have you invited him to come into your
heart and life and be your Savior?
PUPPET: I tried las week but I don't think he heard me.
MC: Milton, Jesus hears everything, even our thoughts, even a quiet
whisper. He is always listening especially when boys and girls invite
him in.
PUPPET: Then he did hear me and he did come into my heart. Thank you
Jesus. OK, I got to go - see you next week! Bye kids!
