"Christmas and Giving"

MC: Kids, let's call Mrs Noah to come out of the Ark and chat with us
a while. (All together shout "Mrs. Noah!")

Puppet: Good Morning everybody! Its a wonderful day to be in the Ark.
Fantastic! What a beautiful day!

MC: My, aren't you feeling chipper this morning and you are looking
especially lovely today. You must be rested and in good health.

Puppet: Oh yes, thank you. I am getting ready for Christmas. I'm so
excited! This Christmas is going too be soooooo good!  I am going to
get a ton of presents this year. (I have so many friends you know.)

MC: Your expecting to get a lot of presents are you? But Mrs. Noah,
don't know that Christmas isn't about GETTING presents. Its about
giving presents too. It is much more important to give presents to
others than to just think about getting presents from your friends.

Puppet: I know. I know what your trying to get at. Don't worry, I'm
going to give a lot of presents to all my friends too you know.

MC: Speaking of friends Mrs. Noah, I heard that your brought some new
friends into the Ark? We sure would like to meet them and find out
what they are going to give people for Christmas.

Puppet: Fantastic! Great idea!. I'll go down below and call them. But
i will have to stay down there while they come up here - I don't what
to accidently overhear what they are going to give me for Christmas.

MC: (MC talks with children wondering what kind of animals we are
going to meet. Then one by one each of the new animals shows himself
and the MC will do a short interview with each getting their name,
where they came from, their age and what they are going to give for
Christmas. Be creative. The animal puppet should be new ones that have
not appeared before.  Each puppet can extemporize their little dialog
with the MC. Be careful not to drag it on and on. Keep it short and
sweet.) Suggestions: Animal - that wild guy from the Muppets, is going
"to give somebody a bloody nose." Willy worm - is going to give
everybody the gift that keeps on giving -- the flu virus. Looney Bird
- is going to give everyone a "piece of her mind." The Slinky Snake -
is going to give people an Excedrine Headache.


NOTE: When the last one has appeared then the MC being very upset by
the selfishness of the animals calls all of them to come out at once
and gives them a scolding for being so self-centered and mean in their
giving. Then the MC will introduce the verse of the day which is Acts
20:35 "It is more blessed to give than to receive."


MC: (Calls Mrs Noah after the others are gone) Mrs Noah, it was very
interesting to meet all your "rowdy friends." I think you need to sit
down with them and teach them about Jesus or maybe you will be
surprised and disappointed at what you get (or don't get!) this
Christmas. We should all try to be examples of Jesus Christ and focus
more on giving than receiving at Christmastime.
