Easter Skit
"The Great King"

MC: Lion are you here?

Puppet: Yes, I'm coming! (Appears with a superman cape and crown)

MC: Lion, what is this? I hardly recognized you. Why do you look so
different.

Puppet: Well, you know. I wanted to change the way I look.

MC: Change the way you look - why? What was wrong with your
appearance?

Puppet: Well, I got tired of being here in the Ark with these stinky
animals. I want to be somebody important and famous. I want to be the
king of the jungle. I want to be famous and have my name in all the
magazines and newspapers. I want to be on TV. I want to go Hollywood
and get to know other famous people like Frank Snot-tra, and Arnold
Swartztrigger.I want to get the applause and praised of everyone like
my hero the Pink Panther.

MC:Oh, Lion, you are always having delusions of grandeur. You know
Jesus talked about showing off and trying to be great.

Puppet: No,what did he say? How can I win an Oscar?

MC: No, he didn't recommend showing off - he condemned it. He said
that if we wanted to be great we needed to become servants.

Puppet: Oh, I know that. I have to be a understanding and pleasant
helping my friends in everything they want me to do, and then I will
be a great person.

MC: OK Lino, now you're getting the idea. Do you know that Jesus is
our example?

Puppet: No, how's that?

MC: What are we going to celebrate next Sunday?

Puppet: I know! It's Easter! And the Easter Bunny is going to bring me
a great big chocolate egg!

MC: No, Lion, that's not exactly it. It is true that a lot of people
celebrate Easter with candy and easter baskets full of goodies, but
what happened on Easter a long time ago?

Puppet: Hmmm... Oh, now I remember! Jesus died on the cross and rose
again from the dead.

MC: Right and by doing so he showed us his that example of being a
servant to all is the best way to become great in the eyes of God. He
could have become a king, or a rich man. He could have made a lot of
friends but instead he chose to die on the cross to pay for our sins
because we couldn't. He did that so we could be forgiven and cleansed
of our sins and go to heaven someday. Lion, I don't know about you but
that is the example I want to follow, not some moviestar!

Puppet: I guess you're right. I just got carried away with watching
too many movies. I think I'm going to start to be like Jesus right now
by going downstairs in the Ark and helping some of my friends with
their homework.

MC: OK, Lion, see you next time. Bye-bye!
