The Yakan are an indigenous people concentrated in the interior of western Mindanao. They make up half of the Island's population. They consider themselves to be good Sunni Muslims though others do not agree since they combine pagan rituals with their Muslim practices. They are cordial to the Gospel presentation although not receptive of it. Pray for radio broadcasts and Bible Studies among them. Population: 150,000 |

The B'laan of the Philippines live in the southern part of Cotabato. They are considered to be moderately responsive to the Gospel. No missionaries are presently assigned to this group. Population: 300,000 |

Burkina Faso |
The Tourka are animists but also practice Islam or Roman Catholicism. Animism is the practice of appeasing spirits by use of amulets, magic, and fetishes. Nearly every courtyard manifests evidence of blood sacrifices with feathers, skulls, and bones hanging from the mud-brick buildings. The Tourka have been very responsive to the Gospel. There is no national pastor or missionary that can speak Tourka, so services are conducted in the Jula language. Population: 40,000 |

Burkina Faso |
The Komono tribe are known also as Kumwenu and speak a language called Komono, although they are bilingual and speak the Jula language as well. They are mainly animists, practicing shamanism, white and black magic, fetishism, and offer sacrifices to appease the spirits. About 25% of the population are Muslim. There are no Scriptures in their language. The Jesus film is available to them and has been effective in reaching them. Population: 10,150 |

Cote d'Ivoire |
The Agni are dispersed throughout the southeastern edge of Burkina Faso. They are a deeply animistic people with strong Muslim, and some Catholic influences. They are sycretistic and tend to mix religions. Near the CMA there is a formal school for training female witch doctors (sorceresses) whose stated goal is to infiltrate and neutralize all Christian influence in the region. There are just a handful of Christians (45) among them. Population: 254,000 |

Thailand |
The Northern Khmer are found in the Northeast of Thailand above Cambodia. They are strongly Buddhist and their social life revolves around Buddhist holidays. Thus far they have been indifferent to the Gospel. The New Testament in their language is near completion. Outreach involves translation work, church-planting efforts and leadership training. Population: 1,300,000 |

The Kui practice animism with a veneer of Buddhism. Many spirit ceremonies including sacrifices to village spirits, family spirits, and spirits of the forest are held in their society. So far they have been indifferent to the presentation of the Gospel. Population: 650,000 |
